Coastal New England Wedding with a SoCal Summer Vibe
Colorful Summer Wedding at the Inn at Longshore, Westport, CT
After our “first date” call with Jessalyn and Scott, we had a very clear vision of how we would transform The Inn at Longshore to match the romantic, SoCal garden vibe they were going for. The Inn at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut is one of our favorite coastal Connecticut wedding venues for many reasons. The space gives us a timeless backdrop to bring a wide variety of designs to life. Sitting on the coast of Connecticut, you are surrounded by bursting floral gardens, sailboat filled waters and the evening is finished off with some of the most romantic sunsets you can dream of.
Setting the tone for this romantic yet playful wedding, we loved the colorful invitation suites that Megan at Peach Paper Designs created. These bold colors were found throughout the entire celebration from the cocktail hour linens to the late night lounge pillows. Guests were welcomed into the reception space with a wildflower garden display where they foraged for their seating assignments. As guests entered the reception space they were truly transported to Southern California through the thoughtful immersive design.
Jess & Scott were intentional throughout the entire planning process. At every turn, they wanted their guests to feel like a character in their love story. Creating experiential moments was at the top of the priority list. We reinvented areas of The Inn at Longshore to guide the guests through the evening. Once the dance party was underway, we opened up the back patio which was transformed into a late night lounge welcoming guests to enjoy the summer night. We teamed up with Fizzy Memories who brought their vintage Volkswagen Photo Booth and tap truck serving beer from local Connecticut breweries.
